Hunter is embarking upon his junior year. He has a fun year planned - one that should challenge him as well as grow him. It will be a busy year, and I pray God gives us all we need to get through it. I also rejoice in the fact that Hunter is home and we get to spend so much time with him.
Hunter's main interest is in computers. He is great with building and repairing he is extremely knowledgeable. He got a part time job working at a computer repair shop not too far from our house. The hours vary - usually he works for a couple of hours in the afternoon. This is giving him some extra money, as well as experience in the field he'd like to have a career in at some point. These days teenagers are happy to land any kind of job as they are very hard to come by, but to have a job in an area that he wants to pursue - what a blessing.
This year Hunter will be studying 20 Century World History by Sonlight. This covers History, English/Literature and Bible.(We'll also do some family devotions each morning.)
Foreign Language: Rosetta Stone Spanish (If we can get it up and running on his computer!)
And this year at CHESS Hunter will be taking: A correspondence course for Creative Writing.
Algebra 2 - Teaching Textbooks
Computer Science - Hunter will be reading and studying this book for the A+ Certification test. The time spent studying plus working 2 hours (or more) a day for a computer repair shop - will be a great learning experience.
Government - Hunter plans to attend the spring Teenpact session for a second time - the two years combined will give him more then a semester's credit.
Drama - Lost Marbles Theatrics - a theater class/group that meets throughout the school year with classes through out the fall and a production in the spring. This is a new direction and though we'll be making the trek back and forth a lot to Ft. Collins - it will be worth it to see Hunter do something new and make some new friends. (And spend time with a few old friends as well!)
It will be a full, educational and super fun year. I'm excited to watch God do a work in his life as Hunter allows the Lord to stretch and grow him. Hunter - trust God's guiding hand - apply yourself and work for Him like you never have before and awesome things are going to happen! We are so blessed to have you for our son! Love you so much!!
